Ah, fall…. The leaves are turning, the air is cooling, and pumpkin-spiced everything abounds. In Phoenix, fall isn’t the beginning of a long hibernation; here, it’s our coming-out time. We do fall cleaning instead of spring cleaning, and we’re outside much more for months of festivals. During this time of rejuvenation, perhaps it’s time to look inward and see how you can reinvent yourself and start the season off right.
How to Fall for Yourself All Over Again
It’s said that you can’t love anyone else until you love yourself, but what if you’re not feeling too warm and cozy about how you’re looking these days? That’s where a bit of an overhaul can be a very good thing. It can help you get your groove back, fall back in love with yourself, and even reenergize your career and love life. That seems worth taking a look at.
Get Centered
One of the biggest challenges we have as busy people is being present. We’re too busy thinking about what’s next to actually be invested in what’s happening now. But at what price? Did you really hear what your daughter just asked you? Do you know what your husband has planned for this weekend?
Getting centered is as simple as stopping, taking a deep breath, and refocusing on the here and now. You can practice meditation to help, which can be as easy as thinking about something intently for 5–10 minutes. You’ll notice that when you’re centered, you’re well on the way to knowing what you love about yourself and your life, as well as what you might want to change.
Go Shopping
With the weather change, you probably need some new clothes, and now is a great time to treat yourself to a shopping spree. But before you grab your wallet, take a look in your closet and shop there first. What do you have that you love? What could use the perfect accessory to provide it with a new life? And what’s ready to take a trip to Goodwill?
Once you’ve cleaned out your closet, you’ll have a better sense of what you need to add to your wardrobe. Maybe last year’s boots that you just had to have don’t really go with anything you’ll be wearing this season. Or maybe you just need some essentials, such as underwear, bras, and socks. New clothes can give you a whole new attitude and show the world you’re ready to roll.
Change Your Body
Okay, we admittedly saved the hardest reinvention tactic to the last. It seems the older we get the harder it is to keep that extra weight at bay. You just look at a slice of bread and you can feel your fat cells expanding. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
If you want to indulge in a pumpkin-spice latte, go ahead and do it. But be smart. Don’t have one daily until Thanksgiving. Don’t order it with whole milk and whipped cream. Instead, order the smaller size with non-fat, coconut, or almond milk and no whip. And have it as a Tuesday-afternoon treat, slowly savoring it while you read that book you’ve been saving on your Kindle.
And now that the weather is cooling down, how about some outside walks? You don’t have to hike Camelback every morning to get exercise. Walk the dog to the park, throw the Frisbee around with the kids, or get the whole family out for a Saturday bike ride. You’d be amazed what fresh air, exercise, and being around loved ones can do for your soul.
How CoolSculpting Helps with Reinvention
There’s no doubt about it: We can all use some help from time to time, especially when it comes to getting in shape. CoolSculpting works by delivering targeted cooling, via a variety of applicators, to excess fat cells. They are frozen, die, and are flushed from the body over the course of 2-4 months. The results are permanent and evident as quickly as 4 weeks for some individuals.
This fat-freezing procedure is FDA cleared, non invasive, and could be just what you need to reinvigorate your last months of 2016 as we roll into 2017. So contact us at Bodify, Phoenix’s premier CoolSculpting boutique. We have just what you need to reinvent yourself this fall.
